There’s a taste of Sardinia in the heart of Bratislava, thanks to Chef Andrea Ena. Originally from Decimoputzu, Sardinia, Andrea moved to Slovakia in 2002 at just 22, after cutting his teeth in kitchens around Lake Garda.

A year later, he opened his first restaurant and began a culinary journey that would bring Sardinian tradition to Eastern Europe.
Today, Andrea is the proud owner of “Sapori Italiani,” one of Bratislava’s most beloved Italian restaurants. Through signature dishes like malloreddus, handmade culurgiones, and spaghetti with clams and bottarga, he shares his roots with a loyal clientele that includes politicians, celebrities, and even national TV personalities.
His success, however, wasn’t built on food alone. Without speaking the language, Andrea turned to football—playing local matches where he made friends who later became loyal customers. This unique blend of sport and cuisine helped him find his place in a new land.
With passion, perseverance, and a deep love for Sardinian flavors, Andrea Ena continues to unite cultures—one plate at a time.
