Duda Ferreira is a Brazilian chef and pizzaiolo based in Lisbon, and founder of Lupita Pizzaria. The original 40-square-meter space is located in Cais do Sodré, with a second location opened in Alvalade in 2025. Lupita focuses on naturally leavened pizza, built around a carefully maintained mother dough and a multi-grain blend of artisanal Portuguese flours, developed over years of experimentation with a local miller. Ingredients are sourced almost exclusively from small Portuguese producers, reflecting a strong commitment to quality and origin. Ferreira’s relationship with pizza began in childhood on his family’s farm in the countryside of São Paulo,
where a wood-fired oven built by his parents became the centre of shared cooking traditions. He began working professionally at 18, spending the following years in restaurant kitchens while continuing to make pizza in his free time. After moving to Lisbon in 2016, these informal gatherings evolved into pop-up dinners, eventually leading to the opening of Lupita. His style is shaped by Italian craftsmanship, the American pizza culture he encountered in New York, and the Brazilian traditions of his upbringing. His work has earned widespread recognition in the contemporary pizza scene for its authenticity and consistency.
